Filmed Movement Research Workshops

These workshops run to document new ideas and research in mask and movement. The workshops are free to attend and are open to performers and students with previous training in a physical theatre, mask or movement discipline.

Current upcoming workshops are on the 2nd & 3rd June at Chandler Hall in London. It is possible to attend both workshops, however you will need to fill out separate application forms for each workshop.

We’ll be using the neutral mask to explore aspects of movement, somatics, posture and physicality.

Influences of this work include:

  • Jacques Lecoq (physical theatre)
  • Dr. Ida Rolf (postural therapy)
  • Wilhelm Reich (body energetics)
  • Alexander Lowen (bio-energetics)
  • Moshe Feldenkrais (functional movement patterning)
  • Giovanni Fusetti (physical theatre)

It is an exploration of non-verbal communication, individual posture and the dynamic experience of “neutrality” and presence.

The workshop is free as it is an exchange to document and film new ideas and movement research. All participants must have a background training in mask, physical theatre or a similar movement discipline.

We’ll look at the role that “action & re-action” and spatial movement play on the bigger story on stage, through the use of the neutral mask in ensemble.

The workshop is free as it is an exchange to document and film new ideas and movement research. All participants must have a background training in mask, physical theatre or a similar movement discipline.
